Are you craving the thrills of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster? Ready to explore distant galaxies in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge? Excited to become a toy in Toy Story Land? Disney’s Hollywood Studios delights guests of all ages with these attractions, plus amazing shows, shopping, and awesome meet-and-greets with cherished characters. Eventually, it’s time to recharge and refuel with a meal break. Luckily, Disney’s Hollywood Studios has plenty of great full service and counter service eateries to choose from. When you’re planning your next visit to Walt Disney World, or are in the mood for a spur-of-the-moment trip, consider my top reasons why we love dining in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

1. VIP Dining

Take the stress out of getting a good seat for Fantasmic!, the amazing nighttime firework spectacular show, and reserve the VIP Dining Package. A special reservation at Hollywood & Vine, Hollywood Brown Derby, or Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano includes an appetizer, entrée, drink, and dessert, plus a great seat in the reserved section of the Fantasmic! Hollywood Hills Amphitheater.

2. Nostalgic Fun

Head over to the 50’s Prime Time Café for a retro dining experience. Sit down at a kitchen table straight from the 1950s, compete with Formica countertops, period décor, and old TV shows continuously playing on black and white sets. Your server takes the role of “Mom” or “Cousin”, and keeps you laughing with playful antics to make sure you remember your manners. It’s hard to choose just one entrée from the comfort food menu because they all sound so good, but favorites include mouth-watering fried chicken, meatloaf, chicken pot pie, and delicious milkshakes. It’s best to make a reservation in advance for this place if you want in on the fun because it is very popular.

3. Time Travels

Step back a few decades in time when you hop into a classic convertible car at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater. The car also functions as your table, parked at an “outside” drive-in theater as you eat your meal and watch classic horror film clips from past eras. Reservations made in advance are also strongly encouraged at this eatery.

4. New Favorites

New additions to the dining choices available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios now include Oga’s Cantina, Docking Bay 7, and Ronto Roasters – all in Disney’s Galaxy’s Edge. A new dining location has been announced to open in Toy Story Land in the near future!

5. Quick Bites

If you don’t want to invest the time and planning for a full-service restaurant, consider one of the many counter-service choices in this park. Serving a wide variety of menu items, these well- themed eateries will please every palate. My family always finds time to enjoy a quick meal at the Backlot Express and Woody’s Lunch Box, but there is something for everyone.

6. Characters!

A visit to Hollywood Studios is never complete without meeting favorite characters. Make a reservation at Hollywood & Vine for the breakfast buffet and dine with good friends from Disney Junior. Lunch and dinner will feature Minnie Mouse and typically some of her Disney pals.

About Melissa Fegely

I have been a professional writer for over 18 years with degrees in Biology and English. I am a lifelong Disney fan and a Disney Vacation Club member of over nine years. Having visited Walt Disney World several times growing up, I really caught the Disney bug after many trips with my husband. Now I am happily addicted to taking our son to Walt Disney World as often as possible and watching him experience the magic and Mickey Bars as he grows up. Traveling to Walt Disney World twice a year, I enjoy attending the Flower and Garden festival held in the spring and strolling around the World Showcase, as well as exploring all of the hidden gems that all four parks have to offer. I love helping my family and friends plan their next Disney trips based on my experiences. I also enjoy reading, swimming, traveling, and cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers. I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania, attended Shippensburg University, and current live in suburban Philadelphia with my husband, son, and two cats.
