Stitch’s Great Escape at Walt Disney World Possibly Permanently Closing

Various sources across the internet have been reporting interesting information about Stitch’s Great Escape in Tomorrowland within Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom Park.  The newest rumor is that Stitch’s Great Escape will be permanently closing after the holiday season.  The attraction has been in seasonal mode for a while, only opening when the park is expected to be a peak attendance.  The attraction area has also been used for a meet and greet location with Stitch when not in operation, too.  The attraction gets a lot of poor reviews from guests and wasn’t very popular when it was open all the time.  The line typically wasn’t very long, which made it a great attraction to go and cool off on during a hot summer day.

There were rumors that the attraction would be re-themed as a completely new attraction.  There was even talk about the new attraction becoming a Wreck-It Ralph themed attraction. We haven’t received confirmation of any of the expected changes, so we don’t know for sure what Disney is planning yet.

The rumor is that the attraction is completely closing forever this time with no more seasonal operation, so we suspect that this means that Disney has something planned.  The location is in a prime area in Tomorrowland, so we wouldn’t expect it to sit idle forever.
