It is definitely a mistake to miss out on dining at the resorts and only dining within the theme parks. The resorts have so many great dining options that it was hard to narrow it down to a top 10 list. Here are 10 Disney World resort restaurants that you will totally love:

10. California Grill @ Disney’s Contemporary Resort

We had to make sure this one made this list due to the amazing food and perfect views of the Magic Kingdom fireworks. This location is only open for dinner and features upscale California flavors. The restaurant is on the pricey side and does require a dress code, so you will want to plan ahead to enjoy a meal here, but it is well worth it.

9. Boatwright’s Dining Hall @ Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside

If you love southern Cajun food, then you will definitely love dining at Boatwright’s. We highly recommend that you check this one out and then walk the beautiful grounds. The food is delicious, with menu items like shrimp and grits, Etouffee, catfish, crawfish dishes and more. You can definitely get your taste of New Orleans here.

8. Trail’s End @ Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground

This location is comfort food at its finest. The restaurant offers breakfast, brunch and lunch services that are “all you care to enjoy” meals. The meals are served buffet style where you go up and get as much as you like and can go back as many times as you like. The breakfast and brunch options include classic home cooked breakfast items plus extra. The dinner service includes things like fried chicken, shrimp, ribs, fresh cobblers, potatoes, pastas and more. If you want the tastes of home cooked family meals, then this location is definitely a great one and a great value.

7. Sanaa @ Disney’s Animal Kingdom Kidani Village

This is probably one of the most unique and neat dining locations on property. The menu is African-inspired cuisine and you get to enjoy the meal overlooking the savanna where giraffes and other animals are roaming around. It is a really cool experience and definitely not something you can do just anywhere. The food is also delicious, too! You have to order the bread service to try the na’an bread and all of the different accompaniments.

6. Cape May Café @ Disney’s Beach Club

This restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner services with very different experiences. Breakfast includes all of your classic breakfast favorites along with characters like Minnie, Goofy, Donald and Daisy going from table to table to interact with guests. At dinner time, the menu becomes a complete seafood buffet along with various accompaniments and other delicious New England-inspired favorites. It is a great value for the money with all of the amazing options and totally delicious, too. If you are a seafood nut, then you definitely want to check this one out.

5. Maya Grill @ Disney’s Coronado Springs

We love the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant has a romantic feel to it. This is enhanced with the light musical entertainment throughout dinner. The location is only open for dinner service, so you are limited as to when you can check it out. The cuisine is all Mexican-inspired dishes with a ton of favorite dishes. This place is definitely worth a visit.

4. Whispering Canyon Café @ Disney’s Wilderness Lodge

The servers are great here plus the food is delicious with a a mix of barbecue and western-style favorites. The all you care to enjoy skillet is a favorite since there are so many great things to try in the skillet, and you can get more of anything that you want! It is also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you have lots of options to check it out!

3. Narcoossee’s @ Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

This location is an upscale dining location with steak, lobster and other delicious selections. The restaurant is a Disney Signature dining experience and requires a dress code. It is only open for dinner service, which makes it a great date night or special occasion restaurant. The location also offers views of Magic Kingdom’s fireworks show. This is definitely one that you should add to your must-try list.

2. Chef Mickey’s @ Disney’s Contemporary Resort

This is definitely a popular resort dining location. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All three services are “all you care to enjoy” meals and are all character dining experiences. If you want to meet classic characters like Mickey, Minnie and their friends while also dining on delicious food, then this is definitely a great location. You will definitely want to come hungry and have your autograph books ready.

1. ‘Ohana @ Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

This location is always a favorite restaurant for our family. We plan a meal here for every vacation. The restaurant offers breakfast and dinner services, and both are amazing. Breakfast is also a character dining event with Mickey, Lilo and Stitch. Both services are “all you care to enjoy” but the food is served family style at your table rather than going up to a buffet table. The lush, green surroundings overlooking the lagoon and pool area are so relaxing and give you a feel of tropical paradise. The food is definitely amazing with classic breakfast favorites in the morning and skewers of fire cooked meats with accompaniments for dinner. You won’t want to miss this one.

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
