10 Essential Experiences You Must Have At Disney Springs At Walt Disney World

Disney Springs is a fantastic asset to Walt Disney World.  It is the premier location for shopping, dining and fun experiences for guests visiting from all over the world.  Here are the top 10 essential experiences that you absolutely must have when you are at Disney Springs:

10. Play at the Lego Store.

You totally feel like a kid again when you get to play with Legos and build fun creations.  The Lego Store in Disney Springs is awesome and has tons of Lego tables where guests can play.  There are even car races where you can build a car and race others, as well as other events.  If you check out the store calendar, there are even free days where you can get free mini Lego sets.

9. Bowl and dine at Splitsville.

There is something extra special about bowling when at Walt Disney World.  Splitsville Luxury Lanes is amazing and one of the most advanced bowling alleys, but still has a retro feel to it.  The food at the location is also amazing and not just your typically bowling alley food.  You can get meals like sushi, steaks, salads and more!  You definitely have to make a lunch or dinner out of this one and enjoy a round of bowling, too.

8. Eat at Earl of Sandwich.

You can’t visit Disney Springs without trying Earl of Sandwich.  It is a staple in the area and a fantastic place to grab a light lunch.  If you are fortunate enough to visit during the holiday season, then you have to try the Thanksgiving sandwich, which is basically a Thanksgiving meal on a sandwich.  It is fabulous!!!

7. Take an Amphicar ride.

You can take an Amphicar ride that will go from land to the water around Disney Springs right by the Boathouse restaurant.  The Amphicar ride is quite pricey for 3 guests to go out on a ride, but it is definitely a must-do experience at least once.  It is a really fun way to explore the Disney Springs area and an experience that you can’t get very many other places.

6. Get delicious candy concoctions from Goofy’s Candy Co.

At Goofy’s Candy Co. you can try a variety of different candy and slushy samples.  You can also build your own candy bags with various types of candy or even flavored candy powders in a tube.  They also have cupcakes, cookies and other fabulous treats.  This is definitely the place to curb all of your sugar cravings and purchase treats to bring back home with you.

5. Go on a balloon ride over Disney Springs.

You can take a fabulous helium-filled balloon trip up a couple hundred feet into the skies above Disney Springs with Aerophile. The balloon stays tethered to the launch location, so you hover in one place for several minutes, but it is a ton of fun. It is really neat to be so high above Disney Springs and you get to experience some of the best views of all of Walt Disney World. You can see everything around Disney World from up there.

4. Pick out Christmas ornaments from the Days of Christmas store.

This is a favorite pastime for my family. Every Disney vacation, we like to pick out a few new ornaments for the year so that we can remember our Disney memories on our Christmas tree over the years.  The Christmas store is open year round and is full of a variety of amazing Christmas decorations and ornaments.  You can even get items personalized with names and/or the year to make them even more special.

3. Enjoy all the amazing street entertainment.

Disney Springs is alive with a variety of different musical entertainment and other acts throughout the entire area all day long.  You will see different acts throughout the day, so you are likely to get a different experience when you walk back through even the same area.

2. Shop ‘til you drop.

There are hundreds of shopping locations varying from name brands to niche stores to Disney stores.  There is definitely something for everyone and you will love browsing the different stores and checking out all the cool displays and merchandise.

1. Enjoy a delicious night out!

This is definitely the place to enjoy a night out in Walt Disney World.  The nightlife is amazing with tons of restaurants, lounges, entertainment and more.  This is the place for a fun family night on the town or a fabulous date night.  Disney Springs is the place for it all!

About Christy Caby

I am a diehard Disney fanatic! I fell in love with all things Disney from an early age and that only increased once I first visited Walt Disney World! It led me to complete a yearlong Disney College Program working at merchandise locations within Disney’s Hollywood Studios (Disney-MGM Studios at that time) and I worked for Disney Parks & Resorts Technology in Project/Program Management. Now I get to write about Disney and help others plan their magical vacations! Disney holds a special place in the hearts of my entire family as my husband proposed there, we honeymooned there, took trips while pregnant with each of my boys and have visited with them many, many times from 8 weeks old through now. One of my favorite memories from each trip is always the look on my kids’ faces the first time they see the castle. I’d love to help you plan your magical vacation!
